Know-how and innovation

Unique and innovative, Meyer saddles are the subject of constant research. Meyer Selles cultivates its difference by combining innovation and technique.

In collaboration with veterinarians and the world’s best riders such as Philippe Rozier and Eric Navet, in show jumping and Odile Van Doorn in dressage, Jean-François Meyer and his team design suitable and high-performance saddles for both the rider and the horse.

Our Research department constantly studies and develops innovations on prototypes tested by our riders. Meyer saddles are made in France, a guarantee of quality.

The design of the tree, the shape and the positioning of the panels, allow total freedom of the horse’s shoulders and maximum comfort at the level of his withers. A wide and distant support releases his spine. This design provides optimal conditions for the proper functioning of the horse’s back. Concerning the rider, the size of the quarters, the seat as well as its orientation play an important role in optimizing its position, its comfort and its balance.

Meyer saddles meet the needs of any rider concerned about the well-being of his horse. Each member of our team comes from the world of horses, and has received appropriate training. In this way we can respond precisely to your specific requests, and thus design with you a tailor-made saddle to meet your needs and those of your horse. We also offer second-hand saddles and offer you an efficient and responsive after-sales service.

The workshop

It is in Cognac that the Atelier Meyer Selles is located. 12 saddlers work every day to make saddles and accessories. We follow the manufacture of saddles step by step. The leathers used are French, and the saddle trees are made by French saddlery. Here is a glimpse of their work: :
